Frankenstein and Madeline - just in time for Halloween

Remember that quaint classic tale about the twelve little girls in Paris.  Well one Halloween, two book creators, both of whom live in Provo, Utah: Rick Walton (writer) and Nathan Hale (artist) were commenting about some of their favorite childhood books and how much better they would be with monsters in them.  From that discussion came this year's Halloween title: Frankenstein: A Monstrous parody by Ludworst Bemoster.
Instead of Miss Clavel, readers get Miss Devel (oh the clever play on words).  The twelve little monsters live, “In a creepy old castle all covered with spines,/ lived twelve ugly monsters in two crooked lines.... The ugliest one was Franken-stein.”

  1. Frankenstein is such a cute book! I love the rhyme- I love the humor- I love the wit! Sure, it's a take on the Madeline series, but Frankenstein holds its own. Loved it!
