Pam Munoz Ryan - Tony Baloney

Pam Munoz Ryan was a keynote speaker at the International Reading Association's 2011 conference in Orlando, during May.
As usual she was inspiring and interesting.  Her newest title, Tony Baloney, with illustrations by Edwin Fotheringham (Scholastic, 2011) is the story of Tony Baloney, a macaroni penguin.  Tony loves fish tacos, Little Green Walrus Guys, his stuffed animal, Dandelion, and anything with wheels. What he doesn't like is trouble but he seems to find plenty of it (trouble that is).  His Bossy Big Sister Baloney and Bothersome Babies Baloney, Dandelion, pester and bother him.   And Tony constantly finds himself in a situation where he has to say "I'm sorry." That's not easy for Tony Baloney.  It's a fun read and more stories about Tony Baloney are sure to come (hopefully).
