The coming of fall always makes me begin to think about food, cooking, and such -- don't ask me why. Anyway, in the past few months I've come to love chutney to serve with all sorts of main dishes. I made some from apples and apricots -- very good. But when Jean Merrill died recently I read that she was well-known for her rhubarb chutney. That sent me on a search for a rhubarb chutney recipe. This one is very good.
And fall always brings to mind molasses cookies -- again, why, I don't know but I love molasses cookies. Here's my favorite recipe (from a recipe handed down to me by my Aunt Bernice) and a note about one of my favorite Brer Rabbit books.
