Gift Giving Suggestion #11 - PreSchool-Primary

The Little House
Burton, Virginia Lee. (1978) The Little House. Houghton.
This book, first published in the early 1960s, tells the story of a little white house built in the country -- but eventually surrounded by the city. When the granddaughter of the original owner came upon the house -- she knew it must be moved back to the country. And so she did. A story about the growth of the city and the quiet of the country.
Take your family on a quiet drive out into the country. Take pictures of your home, where ever it is located, and archive them, and plan to take a few pictures every year so your family can see how your house "grows." Perhaps the evergreen tree in the front yard will be the point of reference.
In our household, Granddaughter and grandfather have taken a picture in front of the Christmas tree every year for 19 years. What fun to see how each has changed - -and grown.
Get out that camera and record history.
