These books tell the story of Helena and her Jewish friend, Esther, during World War II and the Holocaust.
In A Family Secret - Jeroen, Helena's grandson, searches through his grandmother's attic for items to sale in the village garage sale. Instead he discovers a secret of his grandmother's father's involvement with the Nazi's — and the secret that was lost all of these years, the years since the war. The Search continues the story uncovered in A Family Secret.
Give these books (they are available in paperback) along with a journal for the young reader to record the stories they hear from their own grandparents, great-uncles, great-aunts, or other relatives. Decorate the journal with family photographs and graphic letters spelling out the family names. A nice writing pen would finish out the package.
