June 4th marked the date of Dori Hillestad Butler's hometown party to celebrate the April announcement of her 2011 Edgar Allen Poe Award for the best mystery in the children's book division (published in 2010). Her hometown party was attended by friends far and wide and was a very classy affair. A few pictures will give you a sense of the goings on. There were representatives from Albert A. Whitman Publishers, author friends, and many family and friends.
