A Day in the Land of Lincoln

Dori Hillestad Butler, Michelle Edwards, Jacqueline Briggs Martin, and I traveled to the Illinois Reading Council's annual conference.  This year (and every year) the conference convened in Springfield, Illinois.  Prior to becoming engrossed in the conference itself Jackie and I spent an afternoon at the Abraham Lincoln Museum; and later, with Dori and Michelle we toured the house that Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln resided in during his days as a circuit judge and just prior to his move into the White House in Washington, D. C.
